I have 9 articles in total. You need to write a whole speech on every single one of them. You’ll get an idea of what I mean when I share the document. He explains it all. let me know if you have any questions.
Speech/Presentation:
- Clearly labeled
- LENGTH: You will present two times to two different audiences. Each presentation should last 12-15 minutes.
- Your speech should take your audience through your topic thoroughly and in detail. USE CE #1 AS THE FOUNDATION:
- Begin with an introduction that gets the attention of the audience, sets up the topic and offers appropriate background information – consider the familiarity of your audience with the topic. Clearly state your problem statement, motivation, and essential question as well as your thesis/purpose.
- Continue with a discussion of each of your articles; what they taught you, what new perspectives they offered, what rhetorical devices were used (ethos, pathos, logos) and how those helped you understand your topic in greater depth. Make sure these are organized clearly.
- End with your conclusion/reflection. What did you learn? What does that mean for our society/world – IMPACT? What can the audience do now? What solutions can you offer, what predictions can you make for the future?
- You must include quotes from your articles (5-8) and clearly set them up in your speech (SIGNAL PHRASES) so the audience can easily identify the author and article’s title. All quotes must be in bold font or highlighted.
- Quotes must also be cited properly within the speech [Ex: (Blake)].
