{"id":9526,"date":"2022-05-20T17:43:16","date_gmt":"2022-05-20T17:43:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/highclasswriters.com\/blog\/?p=9526"},"modified":"2022-05-20T17:43:17","modified_gmt":"2022-05-20T17:43:17","slug":"hiv-aids-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/highclasswriters.com\/blog\/hiv-aids-2\/","title":{"rendered":"HIV AIDS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Extra Credit<\/strong> \u2013 potentially worth 5 points (100 points are possible for the whole course)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose one of the behavior change theories described in the textbook, and give an example of how the theory could be applied for people who are living with HIV, or are at risk of infection.&nbsp; (You might choose to focus on the intervention you are developing for your partner project, but you are not required to do this.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Write a two-page paper that describes the focus population (age, gender, circumstances, and issues that have an impact on their health), and how the theory would be applied to this population in a public health setting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Describe how the elements in the theory would be applied to the intervention<em>.&nbsp; For example<\/em>, in the Health Belief Model if someone is at risk of HIV infection, you would consider the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A. Perceived Susceptibility (One\u2019s opinion of chances of getting HIV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>B. Perceived Severity (One&#8217;s opinion of the seriousness of HIV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C. Perceived Benefits (One\u2019s belief in the efficacy of practicing safer sex and\/or taking medication, or not sharing needles to prevent infection).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D. Perceived Barriers (One&#8217;s opinion of the tangible and psychological costs of practicing safer sex and\/or taking medication).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>E. Cues to Action (Strategies to activate &#8220;readiness\u201d \u2013 keeping condoms with oneself or next to the bed and\/or keeping medication visible to remind one to take them).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F.
