B: Review Judge Judy cases<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will need to watch 2 hours of \u201cJudge Judy\u201d and do your assignment based on the cases on the program.  There are many cases on “Youtube” that you can see.  The assignment requires you to write on 4 cases.   I feel it is important that everyone get a chance to be in court and experience the reality of court, but, since this is not always possible, I have plan B. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Writeup:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Format:   Cover page with name in upper Right and an outline listing of case names and what type of case it is (such as Contract, Landlord\/Tenant, Tort).   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Jones v. Smith    Type of Case:  Landlord\/Tenant<\/li>
  2. Dude v. Dudette  Type of Case: Contract<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The first paragraph of your paper is to start with an introduction that explains when and where you watched the court cases along with the name of the judge. This is followed by the 4 case summaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Case Summary: There should be a Heading for each case (name of the parties ie.  Jones v. Smith ) followed by the following subheadings with a description of what happened in court:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Facts  (just the facts, not law or who is at fault)<\/li>
    2. Issues  (What legal issues are involved)<\/li>
    3. Law Applied (if this is indicated by the judge)<\/li>
    4. Decision (Who won and why)<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      At times the judge may not indicate the law applied.  If the law is not provided then indicate “Not provided” after the “Law Applied” section.  You do not need to research the law yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      You are to end your paper with a concluding paragraph describing your impressions of the courtroom experience and any concluding thoughts or comments you may have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

       2. Each paragraph has its own heading <\/p>\n\n\n\n
