They often have minimal opportunity to access the general curriculum. The debate for using a functional or academic curriculum is still ongoing despite the IDEA insistence upon access to the general curriculum for all. Finding time and methodology to do both is proving difficult for educators. Doing both is to my mind a must.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Find easy to read books using these sites: leveled text such as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/lexile.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/lexile.com\/&nbsp;&nbsp;(Links to an external site.)<\/a>and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.readinga-z.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;www.readinga-z.com\/&nbsp;(Links to an external site.)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are articles in the weekly reading that pertain to this assignment.&nbsp; Once you have completed the reading, compose notes on how this information would support the inclusion of students with intellectual disability in the general education classroom.
