The film contains interesting similarities and differences from the novella, which Larsen wrote over 100 years ago. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Write an essay where you address the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>What are the similarities between the 2021 film version of <em>Passing<\/em> and the original novella?<\/li><li>What are the differences between the 2021 film version of <em>Passing<\/em> and the original novella?<\/li><li>How does the 2021 film version of <em>Passing <\/em>relate to Langston Hughes\u2019s \u201cI, Too\u201d and \u201cHarlem\u201d?<\/li><li>Overall, do you think the film version of <em>Passing<\/em> was done well? Why or why not?<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Format:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You will earn an automatic 0 if you submit a blank test. Do not ask me to reset your score. Do not email me your essays \u2013 submit them through Blackboard.<\/li><li>You must answer the essay question above. You will not receive credit for ignoring the question or writing about something unrelated to the topic.<\/li><li><strong>You have until Monday May 9, 2022 at 11:59PM to upload your essay.<\/strong><\/li><li>Because this is an online class, you can use notes, and I recommend that you have the texts with you so you can use specific quotations in your essays. This final will be relatively easy to complete if you\u2019ve been keeping up with the readings and my lectures.<\/li><li>You are creating an argumentative, thesis-based essay. Your essays should move beyond summarization. <em>Use the course texts to support, not overpower, your own argument.<\/em> You will not receive credit for completing the final essay if most of the essay does not contain your own interpretation of the course texts. Provide examples from the texts to support your own analysis.<\/li><li>Use MLA format to cite<strong> all<\/strong> your sources. This includes course texts and any outside sources. &nbsp;<\/li><li>As stated on the syllabus, do not copy and paste information from essay creation sites, help sites, or other cheating sites.
