(Tips- You can find word lists in the back of the <em>Making Sense of Phonics <\/em>book.)<ol><li>Use the Rubric below to conduct a \u201cSelf-Check.\u201d Put your initials in each box indicating you have included the components listed.&nbsp; Revise your lesson as needed to include all components.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Using Google Docs or email, share your lesson plan with the \u201cObserver\u201d at least two days before the date you set for teaching so the \u201cObserver\u201d can review your lesson. The \u201cObserver\u201d will send you back your lesson after checking the rubric. Make any necessary revisions before the teaching\/recording date.&nbsp; Send the final lesson plan back to the \u201cObserver\u201d so they can take notes during your lesson.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Send any necessary materials to the \u201cStudent\u201d at least one day before the date you set for teaching and recording so the student can print\/cut any necessary materials (E.g., Print out the attached sound box chart and gather five pennies.)&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Plan to record yourself teaching while on Zoom or another video conference tool.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Practice using the recording feature before your teaching and recording date.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Observer Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"a\"><li>Look over the lesson plan and Rubric. Use the \u201cPeer Check\u201d column to initial if the lesson plan includes the component.&nbsp; Make notes in the box if you are unclear or unsure of a lesson component. Email the lesson plan back to the \u201cTeacher\u201d at least one day before the set teaching and recording date so the \u201cTeacher\u201d can make revisions.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Student Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"a\"><li>Preview any materials that the \u201cTeacher\u201d sends. Print out\/prepare, or gather materials as needed.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>During the Lesson:<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Teacher Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Have the revised lesson plan and any needed materials ready?<\/li><li>Announce to the \u201cStudent\u201d and the \u201cObserver\u201d when you are going to begin recording.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (Only the lesson portion needs to be recorded.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Must record and teach the <strong>Opening, Sub-Objective on Blending and 1 more, and the Closing<\/strong>portions of the lesson as planned.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Student Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Participate in the lesson as a student.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Observer Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Use the \u201cObserver Feedback\u201d column of the final lesson plan to take notes while the \u201cTeacher\u201d is presenting the lesson.&nbsp; (E.g., This portion of the lesson was very clear.&nbsp; Great transitions. Consider adding another example in the future.)&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>After the Lesson:<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Observer Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lead a post-conference conversation with the \u201cTeacher.\u201d Facilitate questions like: <em>What went well? What would you change?
