Personal “Green” Assessment
Please complete the 5 sections below as directed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Carbon Footprint:
    Calculate your current carbon footprint using the calculator link below:

    Write down your overall score, and describe the results and your reaction to them (500-word minimum).<\/li>
  2. Current \u201cGreen\u201d Practices:
    Sit down and make a list of all the current \u201cgreen\u201d practices you currently engage in. Major categories to
    include are, but are not limited to, the following:
    \u2022 Home: products used\/weatherizing\/vegetable gardening\/etc.
    \u2022 Recycling
    \u2022 Car\/Driving
    \u2022 Work
    \u2022 Membership in \u201cgreen\u201d organizations\/programs
    \u2022 Volunteering
    Choose two (2) practices from above that you consider to be green or sustainable, and complete the following
    information for each: (500-word minimum each).
    \u2022 Action (name it)
    \u2022 How long have you adopted this practice?
    \u2022 How much? How often?
    \u2022 Why do you do it?
    \u2022 What are benefits?<\/li>
  3. How Can I Improve My Practices:
    Write a detailed description, based on the first two sections above (include areas of concern on your carbon
    footprint results), on how you can change and\/or improve your green practices and how those changes and\/or
    improvements can make a difference and make a benefit to you, the community and the planet. We already
    know that many practices can save you money, so please go beyond these reasons. (500-word minimum).<\/li>
  4. Something New:
    Take a moment to reflect on a new \u201cgreen\u201d practice that you would like to begin, but haven\u2019t. It could be
    something mentioned above or something else entirely: (500-word minimum)
    \u2022 Name the practice (what is it?)
    \u2022 Why do you want to practice it?
    \u2022 What are the obstacles getting in the way of starting it?
    \u2022 Write a plan on how you will implement it, be specific
    Implement the plan for 3-weeks, and:
    \u2022 Describe the process you undertook
    \u2022 How did you feel doing it?
    \u2022 Rate and explain how difficult it was
    \u2022 Will you maintain the practice? Why or why not?
    \u2022 Include a photo that represents the results of
    Submission:
    Please format as outlined above, with section numbers and titles. All sections should be in paragraph format
    (though your current green practice list can be bullet-pointed). Be very thorough and detailed. Paper should
    be at least 2000+ words total, but invite you to go beyond minimum! Papers lacking in detail will be docked
    points!
    Points:
    50-points total. Grades will be based on:
    \u2022 Depth, thoroughness and thoughtfulness of work.
    \u2022 All required elements included.
    \u2022 Paper formatted as described, and included a cover page.
