\u00b7      Integration of argument with the literature<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7      Critical reasoning of depth and insight<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7      Synthesis of description and analysis<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7      Insightful interpretation; sensitive inferences<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Structure and Presentation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7      Logical sequencing and flow eg: introduction, main body, conclusion<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7      Clarity of structure so that points lead on in a natural, progressive and cumulative way<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7      Clear organisation, perhaps with sub-headings<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7      May involve some discussion of definitions; identification of issues\/ problems etc<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7      Well written; clarity of expression; good standard of English language\/ grammar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7      Perhaps an unusual line, even \u2018contrarian\u2019 line of argument where the material justifies it<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7      Reference to contemporary events; use analogies\/ use personal data where appropriate<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7      Try to find and express a personal voice\/ style ( but not seem opinionated)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end writing something which is vital, expressive, coherent, concise, insightful, persuasive etc is a craft skill which requires practice. You may not get it right straight away, but do persist.
