{"id":2034,"date":"2022-04-10T18:34:23","date_gmt":"2022-04-10T18:34:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/highclasswriters.com\/blog\/?p=2034"},"modified":"2022-04-10T18:34:24","modified_gmt":"2022-04-10T18:34:24","slug":"constituent-engagement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/highclasswriters.com\/blog\/constituent-engagement\/","title":{"rendered":"Constituent Engagement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"anonymous_element_11\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dcccd.blackboard.com\/webapps\/assignment\/uploadAssignment?content_id=_27329495_1&amp;course_id=_657237_1&amp;group_id=&amp;mode=view\">Paper #4: Constituent Engagement<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In your last paper for this course, I want you to discuss how a government official&nbsp;<em>should<\/em>&nbsp;communicate with their constituents, and investigate and assess how well or poorly your House member engages with the people in your district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>First, read this summary of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefulcrum.us\/congress\/constituent-engagement\">constituent engagement<\/a>&nbsp;recommendations discussed in The Fulcrum.<\/li><li>Second, review this list of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jdsupra.com\/legalnews\/practical-pointers-social-media-19508\/\">social media best practices<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Using these recommendations and best practices as a measuring sick, review your congressperson\u2019s social media presence (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), as well as their website to analyze their communications practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If you were the social media advisor to your congressperson, how would you rate their work so far?&nbsp; Do they violate any of the best practices or recommendations?<\/li><li>Does your House member hold any in-person town halls or other opportunities for face-to-face constituent engagement?&nbsp; See their websites for \u201cnews\u201d or \u201cevents.\u201d&nbsp; When was the last one?&nbsp;<\/li><li>Would you recommend any changes to their communications practices?&nbsp; What can they do to try to reach out to their constituents beyond what they are currently doing?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All papers must be at least 2-3 double-spaced pages in length and must include an introduction (telling the reader the purpose of the paper) and a conclusion.
