1. The Organization of Society<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the excerpt from The Division of Labor in Society in the textbook, you read a part of Emile Durkheim\u2019s theory of how economic specialization has reorganized society as a whole in a fundamental way. Hence to understand society, we must look at how it is organized economically. Discuss the aspects of Durkheim\u2019s theory and apply them to a social phenomenon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In your essay please clarify the difference between organic and mechanical solidarity, and consider the impacts (positive and negative) of both on? How does a modern society characterized mostly by organic solidarity impact your social phenomenon?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will need to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cite The Rules of the Sociological Method (no other sources for Durkheim), and two reputable sources for your social phenomenon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Include in-text citations, for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authors found that SES is a fundamental cause of health disparities (Phelan et al. 2010).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Include a works cited section at the end of the paper (note that this does NOT count toward the page count), for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
