You must cover the following points in your comparison:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Introduction and Thesis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Introduce the artwork titles, period styles, and artists&#8217; names.<\/li><li>Briefly state what you believe is significant about these artworks.<\/li><li>In other words,&nbsp;tell your reader what works of art you will be discussing and why you think they are important.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stylistic Analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Correctly identify artwork titles, period styles, and artists&#8217; names.<\/li><li>Compare the artworks by discussing key stylistic characteristics associated with artists and period styles.<\/li><li>Apply art history vocabulary correctly and uses it to support your stylistic analysis.<\/li><li>In other words, what make these works stylistically significant?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cultural Analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Compare the artworks by discussing key cultural issues associated with artists and periods.<\/li><li>Discuss how the cultural context of each period influenced the artistic development of the period style (make connections between cultural context and style).<\/li><li>In other words, what makes these works culturally significant?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conclusion and Thematic Connection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Analyze the ways art can affect or reflect cultural, political, and social issues.<\/li><li>Draw conclusions about the artist and society which produced the artwork from the comparison.<\/li><li>In other words, what thematic connection can you make between the two works of art that helps you better understand them or the culture they represent?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Research<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Incorporate three or more sources (outside of lecture notes and textbook) to support your analysis.<\/li><li>Properly cite your sources using MLA\/Chicago format.<\/li><li>Include a Works Cited list.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Written Mechanics<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Use grammar, spelling, and punctuation correctly throughout your paper.<\/li><li>Proofread.<\/li><li>In other words, there should be no mechanical errors!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SOURCES:&nbsp;Three in addition to<\/strong>&nbsp;the module text<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Scholarly&nbsp;professional website (for example, a museum, research institute, or university)<\/li><li>Nonfiction book published within the last 50 years<\/li><li>An art history textbook such as&nbsp;<em>Gardner&#8217;s Art Through the Ages<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Jansen&#8217;s,<\/em>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<em>Schneider-Adams<\/em><\/li><li>Professional art historical publication (magazine or journal, can be online) such as&nbsp;<em>The Art Bulletin<\/em><\/li><li>Databases such as the Oxford Dictionary of Art Online (accessible through the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/library.academyart.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>AAU Library website<\/strong><\/a>)<\/li><li>Credible professional websites, such as those of museums, galleries, and universities; for example:<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.getty.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>The Getty Center<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.metmuseum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>The Metropolitan Museum of Art<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><strong>In other words:&nbsp;Don&#8217;t use Wikipedia!<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FORMAT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your research paper must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be a minimum of three to five pages, excluding illustrations, headings, and paragraph breaks.<\/li><li>Be spell-checked, grammar-checked, and proofread for errors not caught by your computer.<\/li><li>Include a heading containing your full name, ID number, class title and section, date, and instructor&#8217;s name.<\/li><li>Be typed and double-spaced, 12-point, Times New Roman font.<\/li><li>Be submitted as a Microsoft Word-compatible document (DOC or RTF, not DOCX).<\/li><li>Cite references used according to MLA\/Chicago style and include a Works Cited page at the end of your essay.
