It’s not always easy to guess who owns what. Familiar brand names are often owned by large multinationals, theehome countries of which often seem counter-intuitive.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS EXERCISE?
Thisexercise illustrates the necessity of keeping up with the business news. What is owned by company A today may be sold to company B tomorrow and next week that firm may itself be acquired by, or merge with company C. The “home countries” themselvesbecome something of a moving target.
