In his second experiment, Ariely describes how acknowledgement influences levels of satisfaction. Based on Dr. Ariely’s findings from this and other experiments, he proposes a new model of labor that argues factors beyond compensation increase productivity and happiness.
Consider whether these factors should be weighted and how (e.g., is compensation at the base of a Maslow-inspired pyramid, do other factors outweigh compensation when combined, etc.?). Are there factors that model overlooks or should not include (e.g., factors are different for volunteers vs. paid staff)?Link to video:https://youtu.be/5aH2Ppjpcho
