Many people think of sexuality as a biological matter; however, sexuality is largely cultural. 1) Explain the biological foundation of sex; 2) explain the difference between sex and sexuality.  How is sexuality a cultural/social construction?  How do the film clip regarding pornography and the reading reading stripping as a performance relate to the idea of sexuality as a social construct? Next,  Explain the idea of social construction of reality.  How does this relate to ideas in the sociological theory, symbolic interactionism?   Use detailed examples from the posted article by Doing Gender by authors West and Zimmerman as well as the film, Codes of Gender to explain how we “act out” or perform gender in daily interaction, as well as how the media “constructs” our views of gender.
