The task is to write a case study research paper about the role of digital media technologies in shaping civic practices and political struggles in the context of a particular social movement, civic organization, social group, or media institution

Throughout the course of this semester, we have examined the implications of emerging digital media technologies and practices for citizenship, equality, participation, and belonging. With a focus on the intersection of media, communication, and citizenship, we reviewed emerging research findings and scholarly debates on the role of media technologies in carving spaces for expressing and enacting class and identity struggles as well in enabling new articulations of citizenship and rights. Your task for the final project in this class is to creatively select a civic group, social movement, NGO, or a social/minority group to research as a case study. The project will explorethe relationship between digital media technologies and citizenship through the prism of your particular case study. While it is important to come up with a timely and relevant case study, your project will have to ground its analysis in the conceptual frameworks and debates we have covered in this class—and beyond. While you may choose to work on the same case study from your midterm case report, your final project will have to be guided by a different set of research questions and grounded in broader academic sources. The focus of your analysis will have to change (i.e. research questions) and the scope of your research will have to be broader
