- You will be writing your own research paper that deconstructs a specific piece of media espousing the theory. The 1000-1200 word paper will present a thesis that is underpinned by evidence and arguments that lead to a well-supported conclusion to show that you have mastered expository writing techniques. Your paper will consist of a close textual analysis of the media piece you choose. You will back up your deconstruction with four quotes from four different readings (only one of the four quotes can be from an NLM post) and two citations from reputable journalism that refute the claims made in your chosen piece of media. Government agencies like NASA, while reputable, are not news sources. Use your information neighborhood skills to make sure your two citations are from actual news sources.
