Describe the Organization

Purpose: In the United States there are more than 25,000 home care and hospice organizations that the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) represents. The association has about two million members (health care personnel) who are majorly nurses whose rights and duties of being provided with a healthy working environment forms an integral component of the organization’s mandate. According to the policies of the organization, the members deliver healthcare services to more than 10 million Americans annually who are suffering from lifestyle illnesses and other chronic diseases. It is through the NAHC that the healthcare personnel have a platform for accessing knowledge, information, and skills that are critical in the provision of quality care as they demonstrate their commitment to the realization of organizational goals and objectives.

Mission: The mission of NAHC is to provide a united platform for the delivery of quality care by advocating for the interest and rights of the nurses in home care and hospice organizations with the objective of ensuring that the resulting environment is productive for both the personnel and the realization of positive patient outcomes.

Vision: NAHC desires to be a major player in the re-establishment of home care and hospice organizations that are focused on providing the healthcare personnel with an environment that fosters improved productivity and the realization of positive patient outcomes.

NAHC has been an advocate of continuous learning for its members, as evidenced in the e-learning resource center (Home Care University). Through the Home Care University (HCU), the members register to be exposed to different courses with the objective of improving their professional standards when managing diverse needs of the patients. Members who register to participate as learners in the HCU are exposed to courses on leadership, work development, clinical skills, management, and operations.
