The Machine Stops.

For HW I asked you to finish Forster’s The Machine Stops.

How does The Machine Stops represent a dystopic future? (Dystopia can be defined as: a futuristic, imagined universe in which oppressive societal control and the illusion of a perfect society are maintained through corporate, bureaucratic, technological, moral, or totalitarian control.) Cite specific evidence from the story. Does anything in this story seem utopian? From you 21st century reader’s perspective, what elements of this story remind you of our present day world?
