In this argumentative essay, address how emotional wellness linked to depression can be explained by the social structures and social interactions of individuals in context of their theories. Mental illness has profoundly disruptive effects on individual lives and on the social order we all take for granted. Emile Durkheim and Karl Marx offer captivating ideas of mental illness that are deeply rooted in the context of sociology. Address the significance of social structures and social interaction addressed through their different viewpoints discussed.  For example, Marx explains how individuals become isolated in society through capitalism through the division of labor process which causes alienation.
