As we move from a print-oriented Industrial Age to a digitally based Information Age, how do you think individuals, communities and nations have been affected positively? How have they been affected negatively? Use specific real-world examples to back up your ideas and provide links to where you found these stories/examples.

Define mass media and describe how technology, scale and distance differentiate it from one-on-one communication. How has mass media impacted the way we communicate with friends, family and strangers? Has it changed the way we communicate in person? How do you see the way we communicate changing in the next 10 – 15 years?

In what ways has television helped us to cope with contemporary issues from the 1960’s to now.  Use at least 3 examples from different decades. Considering the ways that streaming services have impacted our television watching experience (individual vs shared, binge watching, increased # of shows available), do you think that television will continue to help us cope with contemporary issues?  Why or why not?
