DO NOT USE OUTSIDE SOURCES. WHAT IS INCLUDED IS ALL THAT IS ALLOWED
American Revolution history essay based on given document sources. Footnotes required.
“An essay that consists of narrative and no analysis will not be accepted Each essay must be typewritten in 10-point Times New Roman typeface. Double-space the text (footnotes, to be placed at the foot of each page, may be single spaced) on standard white 8.5”x11” paper, with side margins not to exceed one inch, with top and bottom margins in proportion. Please include your name, the course number, and the date you are submitting the essay in the top left-hand corner of the first page (do not provide a separate title page), give your essay a title (centered over your text), place a running head (your last name and page number) on the top right-hand corner of each subsequent page, and staple all six sheets of paper together. Essays that are submitted without source notes that detail where the author has found the information on which he or she has relied in constructing his or her argument will NOT be accepted. Remember that source notes must encompass not merely citations directing the reader to the source of direct quotations, but must also specify where the author has acquired background knowledge not offered as direct quotations. Again, please remember that source notes must be provided for direct quotations AND for all summarized information, even if your text does not contain a direct quotation. You should limit the use of direct quotations to those parts of your argument that cannot be paraphrased, or that derive some special import from the words of the originator of the argument. Typically, the appropriate citation of sources requires a footnote at the end of each paragraph.”
