After reviewing all the material in Modules 1 to 3, select and review one of the two critical essays and write a response outlining the ways in which the key points of the essay are displayed in the in one of the three works of fiction covered in Modules 1 through 3. That is, choose to write about Emily Brontë’s Jane Eyre, Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s “The Yellow Wallpaper” or Kate Chopin’s “The Story of an Hour” in light of the theories of either Gilbert and Gubar’s “Infection in the Sentence” or Hélène Cixous’ “The Laugh of the Medusa.” The response paper should be between 750 – 1250 words (three to five typed, double-spaced pages). The bibliography and any footnotes/ endnotes are exempt from this word count. Important: Your paper must include your own personal perspective and analysis throughout. You are encouraged to use phrases such as, “I envision …,” “I interpret this passage to mean …,” From my analysis, I conclude that …,” and so on
