Researching workplace learning – Report

Overview Learning occurs in all workplaces and can take many forms. Sometimes the learning is highly structured and formal and in other contexts the learning is informal and takes place on-the-job. This assessment asks to report experience of workplace learning and make links to the relevant research in evaluating the appropriateness and effectiveness of the learning strategies used.

 1. Identify an example of workplace learning that you have been involved in. Briefly describe your workplace context, the learning process and the outcomes that were achieved (ie what you learned or perhaps what you didn’t learn) (200 words)

 2. Critically analyze whether the learning strategy used was well-suited to your needs as a learner and the skills you were trying to learn (600 words). – outline the key elements of the learning strategy and how learning occurs through this approach; – identify your needs as an adult learner and consider if they were met; and – consider whether the learning strategy was a good fit with the skills you needed to learn.
