For this assignment, you are required to go well beyond the scope of your earlier assignments. Therefore, to launch this research paper project, read a couple of articles or a chapter of a book to familiarize yourself with the broader issue; delve into relevant history as well as recent debates on the issue. · Follow a writing process. Prewrite to generate ideas and arrive at a provisional thesis statement. Your earlier thesis may still work for this research paper, or you may find that your thesis may shift a little once you begin the deep research. Be sure that the thesis you provide is opinionated and debatable. · Outline the paper, identifying the supporting points that you’ll develop to support the thesis. After this stage, it is imperative that you continue your investigative work. · Begin drafting the research paper. Your paper needs to have an introduction paragraph, a body, and a conclusion. You need to present a thesis statement in the introduction. Make this the last sentence of your introduction paragraph. Note: The thesis statement should be a debatable and declarative sentence. Please do not make an announcement or state a fact or a question. Once you’ve determined your thesis statement (your thesis may change as a result of your research.), you should provide several supporting paragraphs (a body) which will offer concrete evidence from the outside sources that you’ve gathered during your investigative research and your own analysis. Ultimately, you will need to consult a variety of sources, such as but not limited to peer reviewed journals, scholarly books, magazine, journal, and newspaper articles (both print and web based), books, films and/or documentaries, pamphlets. If it’s relevant you may conduct personal interviews, or collect data from census materials. This list of sources is not exhaustive but gives you an idea of the range of materials available to you. These are the sources that will help support your ideas, but they cannot substitute for your own voice. It is, after all, your paper, so your thoughts and analysis should be apparent and strong. When you borrow information from the outside source material be sure that you introduce the quoted passage and then analyze the passage in a sentence or two to help your reader understand the significance of the quoted material. In the body of your paper, you should also work toward synthesizing the information your garner during your research. Synthesizing means that you put the scholarly sources in conversation with each other. On what points do the authors of the source material agree? On which points do they disagree? In your opinion, what does this mean? Do you agree or disagree with what the outside materials say? Why or why not? As you synthesize your sources, be sure to use transition words to help readers follow your flow of thought. In the body of your research paper, you will be required to cite at least 10 sources. Ideally, these ten sources should be the sources listed on your Annotated Bibliography assignment. However, if you find that you have one or two sources that need to be switched out for stringer sources, you may need to go back into the library and find additional sources. You will be using the MLA Style to integrate source material into your papers, to compile the Works Cited page, and to format the final draft of the research paper. Please consult Purdue University’s Online Writing Lab site (Purdue OWL—owl.english.purdue.edu) for documentation guidance. A link to the Purdue OWL website can also be found on our Blackboard site. In-text citations and the corresponding Works Cited page are mandatory. Each supporting paragraph should open with a transition word, phrase, or sentence and have a governing topic sentence. · Your essay should provide a conclusion paragraph that restates your argument and sums up all of your ideas gracefully. You should not be presenting brand new material in the conclusion. · Be sure to revise, edit, and proofread your research paper before submitting. Essay Paper Format: · Double space and type your document.· Use 12 point font size.· Use a standard font (e.g. Times New Roman or Ariel).· Use 1 inch margins on all sides.· Type your last name and page number in t
