Research paper

Week 4: This final paper will be where you submit a 7 to 10 page paper detailing a major program that has been managed, via the acquisition process, over the past decade. However, this week you only need to select a major program that you will write about. It is ideal if you write a one page abstract about your topic, but you can just select the major program that you will be writing about at this time.

The content of the paper should demonstrate your understanding of the acquisition and program manager processes discussed over the past eight weeks.

Therefore, think about that Week 8 Resarch paper and begin research this week on what you think it might be about. Then write an abstract of that concept at this point in time in this class. You may find over the remaining few weeks that some variation of the final paper concept changes and that might change this abstract. If so, that is normal and just fine. In fact, an abstract is usually the very last piece of any research paper since it highlights what your paper is all about, what it has reported on discovering from your research.

So, write a one page abstract. It will be edited and sent back to you to use in the final paper.

Review all Learning Objectives (LO-1-8). Research the learning objective in the library and on the web.

Write this one page paper, plus the title page and a reference page. That means a one page paper would actually consist of three pages. The title page and the reference page are never counted in a formal college paper.

As always, read all the content notes before you start this assignment as new or current events may have been updated since the start of class.

Now, to write an abstract is not just to cut and paste a summary of your paper or proposed final paper. An abstract is a unique document. It is usually created after the body of the paper is complete. It is the very last thing you write. But, we begin here with one. And yes, it is expected that it might change a bit by the time you do a bit more research. So, study what an abstract really is. You may be surprised.
