Your task is to create an engaging and thoughtful essay in which you tell us
something about who you are and how you’ve grown based on one or more experiences you’ve had. To begin, you’ll have to think about two main things: what story(s)
you want to tell and what those stories mean. Your purpose is to create a vivid portrait of a particular experience so that readers will
have a good idea of what happened and how it influenced your life either positively or negatively.There are just three areas in this type of essay:
- The Story: Are you telling a story with a beginning, middle, and end? The entire structure and organization should be told well.
- Vivid Details: Can we see what you are talking about? Remember the idea of using citation. It is better to see the subject or place you are talking about if your audience is to believe you.
- Significance: This is the perspective by another name. There needs to be a reason to your story that the audience can see from start to finish.
