Criteria: Paper
Title:The title of your paper/project, as well as your name and class information should be typed on the cover page.
Thesis: Is your thesis clear or murky derivative original, persuasive or problematic?
Organization: Does your paper/project flow in a logical, coherent manner?
Argument:Is your argument persuasive with the main points well supported with aptly chosen evidence from your respective sources? Is it balanced, with appropriate attention given to both positive points and possible objections?
Sources: Have you identified proper sources and used them effectively? Have you demonstrated familiarity with class materials?
Prose Style: Is your writing lucid, error free, graceful? Are there major problems of style, syntax, and spelling?
Creativity: Have you within the bounds of the assignment, shown unusual creativity in the selection and/or treatment of the subject? Has your creativity enhanced the assignment?
The essay has to be over this two number like 1 and 2
1. Compare and contrast colonial policies in Africa. Consider how colonial rule was
implemented and how it impacted Africa and Africans over time. Where were some
characteristics and factors of colonial rule? Give at least 4-5 specific examples to
support your essay.
2. Write an essay that describes the ways in which Africans gained their independence from colonial rulers. How and in which ways did Africans navigated the colonial
terrain? Compare and contrast violence and non-violent ways of independence struggle. Give 4-5 specific examples to support your essay.
