- Browse through poems on pages 675-1030.
- Choose two poems by different authors that address a social issue of their time. (Do not choose poems that are analyzed in the textbook and do not use poems you have analyzed for the discussion board post).
- Review the Steps for Reading Poetry explained on pages 661-662.
- Read the sample student essay on pages 672-674.
- Discuss how each poem illustrates its issue.

- In-text citations: First in-text citation (lines 2-4). Second and following in-text citations: (2-4).
- Two primary sources (two poems) listed alphabetically on a Works Cited page.
