Provide a brief overview of your class including year level/s, number of students, ethnic/cultural composition, and the learning needs of the children including specific students. 1. Plan two lessons. Using the lesson plan template provided, write two full lesson plans for your class: one in physical education and one in music. Both lessons should demonstrate your understanding of the learning needs of the children in your class, including those with additional learning needs. For each lesson, explain through annotations how the plan addresses one issue that could limit a child’s access to and engagement and learning in music or physical education [maximum 1300 words {does not include template headings, AOs, KCs etc } 20 marks]
2. Plan a unit for either Physical Education OR Music. Select one of your two lesson plans above (either music or PE) as “Lesson 1” and design the outline of a three-lesson unit using the unit template supplied. Bullet points may be used for brevity. The unit should demonstrate your understanding of the NZC and Music or Physical Education, and how to sequence lessons that create a learning progression.
Drawing from course readings, annotate the unit plan to explain how the plan meets the needs of learners with additional needs and effectively extends your inclusion strategies from the first lesson. In this section, you will focus on the learning area you chose not to develop into a unit. Drawing from course readings and resources, identify and describe your strengths and weaknesses in teaching either Music or Physical Education.
