Read all of: Cobb The Man Behind.pdf.Actions This piece begins our unit on “critical race theory” (CRT), a label that some conservatives have used pejoratively to describe the 1619 project, as in: “they’re trying to teach critical race theory [i.e. the 1619 project] in grade schools and high schools.” Our goal in this unit is to figure out what CRT really is and also to decide if the 1619 project is CRT or CRT-esque or entirely outside the concerns of CRT.
