Some believe that popular music and culture promotes violence against women and male aggression.  Develop a  (4-page or 1,500 word) persuasive essay that considers the effect(s) videos and lyrics like the ones presented here might have on the larger society.  Consider this broader question: Do artists have a moral responsibility to their public?

1.  Utilize the W.I.S.E. approach to help come to a solution or resolution.

2. Use the five-step strategy outlined in Chapter 6 of your book.

3. Using your investigative skills, find 2 credible, college-level sources to help support your ideas.

WISE: Wonder, Investigate, Speculate, Evaluate 

You should use the WISE approach to help you think about this; however, this is a 4 page paper that will require more than 5 paragraphs. You should have the following elements 

I. An introduction–This should include context for your discussion topic and a clear thesis statement (simply answer the questions posed).

II. Body (3-4 points/ideas to support your thesis). 

      A. This should be in paragraphs (as many as necessary to flesh out your ideas)  with clear topic sentences that make statements to      support your thesis/claim.

      B.  you should include evidence from your research to back up your points.

       C.  Follow up analysis that ties your evidence to your thesis.  Explain how your quotation or information you borrowed is relevant.

II.  Conclusion-  Tie all of your ideas together and answer the question:  so what? Why should your audience care about this issue?  How does it impact them?
