Purpose:

This essay provides the Nursing Department with an opportunity to assess an applicant’s reasons for choosing nursing as a career and their potential for success. The assessment is meant to reflect the following criteria: 1) writing skills and ability to express oneself, 2) attention to detail, 3) and level of preparation and awareness to enter a rigorous course of study.
