Inside Out (2015) 5 paragraph essay instructionsPlease watch the film and write a 5 paragraph essay. For the first paragraph, you need an introduction paragraph with a thesis statement.  A thesis statement should provide the topic for each of the 3 body paragraphs into one thesis statement (sentence).  The final paragraph (5th) should be a summary/conclusion.Body Paragraphs: For the body paragraphs, each one of the body paragraphs should be 5-7 sentences and focus on a specific psychological concept seen in the film that relates to one of the chapters in the textbook.  The psychological concept should be defined in 2 or 3 sentences using in-text citations and then several sentences describing the scene/example from the film that provides evidence for that psychological concept.The film can relate to several chapters that we have discussed in psychology. For example, Chapter 9 (Human Development); Chapter 2 (Neuroscience and Behavior–e.g., Hippocampus and Amygdala); Chapter 6 (Memory); Chapter 7 (Thinking. Language and Intelligence); Chapter 8 (Motivation and Emotion); Chapter 4 (Consciousness and its Variations) and even Chapter 12 (Stress, Health and Coping)Format: This paper should be written using APA format for the citations and the formatting of the paper. Please include a title page.The paper should be double-spaced, 1 inch margins, 12 point font. Please be sure to proofread and follow appropriate grammar guidelines.Citations:You should be using your textbook to define the psychological concepts that you write about in each body paragraph.  You are not required to do any additional research, but if you do be sure to include it as an addition to the course textbook in the works cited/reference list.All information that is not “common knowledge” must have a citation (source) within the essay as well as in a works cited/reference list.  Of course, if you are taking information word for word from the textbook or other source then it must be in quotation marks.  If you are paraphrasing from a source, you still must cite the source within the paragraph of your paper. Just having a works cited or reference list is not enough. In-text citations are also required.
