The project for this course will focus on social responsibility and research. You will present these findings in a formal collegiate style research paper.
You will write a formal APA research paper over Social Responsibility. You will address the following items within your paper:
- Definition of what social responsibility is. This is individual social responsibility NOT corporate social responsibility, so make sure you are looking at the right definition.
- Examples of social responsibility and the importance each plays within society.
- How a person can be more socially responsible…in other words, how can I do my part to help society? What are some ways I can take action, give back, etc?
Step 1: Research

This is where you explore and research social responsibility further. You will be researching various elements that can be discussed in your paper, including items such as:
- definitions
- statistics
- examples
- monetary values
- problem/solutions
- details
- people/organizations

This is where you put your findings together and interpret these ideas. You will be using APA 7th edition format. Please watch the videos provided in the Writing a Research Paper & APA Format module for help with these items.
The prompts of your paper include:
- Definition of what social responsibility is. This is individual social responsibility NOT corporate social responsibility, so make sure you are looking at the right definition.
- Examples of social responsibility and the importance each plays within society.
- How a person can be more socially responsible…in other words, how can I do my part to help society? What are some ways I can take action, give back, etc?
Your paper will include:
- Title Page (1 page)
- Body Pages (2-4 pages)
- 3-5 sources
- Make sure to have an intro paragraph, various paragraphs to answer prompts, and concluding paragraph
- Reference Page (1 page)
- APA style title page (no abstract)
- APA style 2-4 body pages with internal citations (do not use sub-headings)
- APA style reference page
- 3 sources minimum (max 5) cited properly both with in-text citations as well as on the reference page. You may use sources found on your Annotated Bibliography.
- Informative paper
- 3rd person writing
- Introduction – Introduces your paper to the reader. What are you going to be discussing? The last sentence needs to be your thesis statement–or the main idea of your entire paper. Use your prompt above to help you create this.
- Body – Explain what you learned from your research.
- Remember to answer the prompt above to help you structure this part of your paper.
- Keep in mind, you may use parts of your discussion on social responsibility too to help you here.
- Cite your sources within your text in proper APA format. When in doubt, cite!
- Remember to use third person references. This is an informative paper, not an argumentative/opinion style paper.
- Conclusion – 1 paragraph. Restate your thesis. Finally, a wrap-up/final thought regarding this topic.
