For the week 1 assignment, you will write a 1- to 2-page paper summarizing your understanding of health research and how it is used. 

Define – In your own words, define health science research and how it is used.  Consider how health research has helped individuals and communities become healthier.  Include examples of clinical and population health research in your paper. 

Identify – Identify your chosen health topic for your research proposal.  Provide a detailed summary of why this topic is appropriate for a research study and who the study will benefit.  Also identify if your proposed topic would fit into clinical or population health research.
