Trauma Paper – Students are expected to complete an 8-10-page paper (not including cover and reference page), focused on trauma, resiliency, and the child welfare system. The paper will integrate the major subjects covered throughout the course and must incorporate 3 research sources. Suggested Topics include: Impact of Community Violence on Children, Trauma-informed Child Welfare Practice, Promising Practices in Child Welfare, Long-term Impact of Foster Care, Trauma Recovery through Adoption, Traumatic Grief, Trauma and Child Development, and Secondary Trauma for Child Welfare Professionals.
