You are required to research a topic related to our studies, discussions, and readings related to deviance, and present your findings in a research paper. You may choose any topic you have an interest in related to our course of study. Please run the topic by me first-I reserve the right to modify or deny your topic. Your research must include current material and the paper must include a hypothesis by which you are basing your research on. The paper will be a scholarly effort in APA format and a minimum of 7 pages in length, not including the cover, table of contents, and references or appendices. A minimum of 5 scholarly/academic references must be cited. Use Proquest Data Base to find your sources, doing an Advanced Search for ONLY Scholarly, Peer Reviewed, Full Text Citations of Books and Journal articles from the last 3-5 years. No wiki sites, web sources, blogs, magazine, or newspaper, etc.). The research paper will be assessed using a Research Paper Rubric. It will be run through Turnitin so do not plagiarize–cite your sources in text.
