Kim & Mauborgne (2003)  in this week’s readings, present a powerful leadership case study on overcoming
cognitive, resource, motivational and political hurdles.

What are some of the complex challenges in your company or environment that have required your organization to change recently?

What is the impact of change on you and your organization? *Address at least 2 of the “hurdles” you may have, or may need to, overcome.

How does Lewin’s theory help explain your (and others’) experience of change?

Afterwards, post a reply to (two) other people’s posts, which should demonstrate deeper critical thinking.

Forum Expectations:

…. succinctly explain what impact the change is having on your initiative other than broad terms i.e. “considerable”

…. state how the change has affected you specifically i.e. other than “positively”?  How is this being manifested?

How is Kurt Lewin’s three stage model applicable to your situation? Have others been prepared for this change so that they are receptive and thereby avoid failure?  This unfreezing is the first step in the model.  What preparation has been done to initiate stage one? What stage is now evident and how is it manifested?

Next, consider the Tipping Point Leadership model as it applies overcoming each of the hurdles

It is important to show how the model and the three step process applies to your situation compared to outlining what the literature says.

I do not expect that all four hurdles need to be overcome nor do I expect that all three stages of Lewin’s process can be applied.  If they can, then show how they have been applied.
