Watch the following youtube videos that tell traditional folktales. One is from the Ashanti (African) trickster, Ananse the Spider. Another is from the Native American trickster the coyote. The last is about Raven, an American Southwest Trickster. After watching the videos answer the following questions.

Answer the following questions in paragraph form. Answer the first question in the first paragraph, the second question in the second paragraph, and the third question in the third paragraph. 

1) What trickster qualities (the list found within Week 1 Terms PowerPoint 23-32) do these stories contain? What traits or attributes that qualify the main character as a trickster, or that make the story one about tricksters?

2) What human characteristics (behaviors, emotions, actions, features etc.) are these tricksters given? With this human behavior in mind… what is the goal of the tricksters in these stories? How do you think this reflects human nature and their desires?

3) Why do you think their cultures retold this particular story for generations? What values and morals do they pertain and what do they explain about these animals and the world they live in?

Do not summarize the stories, that is not what this assignment is about. The point is to evaluate the tricksters in these tales. 

Your writing should be typed in 12 point font, Times New Roman, and 250 words in length.
