THE ASSIGNMENT:

You will select a criminal justice policy or practice and determine its morality or immorality by applying an ethical theory. To be successful, you must review the ethical theory(ies), provide an analysis of the chosen policy/program, and address what changes are needed to make a current policy or practice an ethical one according to ethical theory(ies). Potential topics include, but are not limited to: juvenile waivers, three strikes, death penalty, registration and notification, disenfranchisement, supermax facilities, civil commitment of sex offenders, etc. 

You are required to write an essay between 1,000-1,500 words in length, not to include your abstract, cover page and reference page. The essay will be written in APA format and style (Links to an external site.). For maximum points, you must reference external research or examples.

IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!

 Focus on utilitarianism  for example, and explain why it can determine the morality of the death penalty that would be great.   You also need to  explain what changes need to be made instead of saying the authorities should look for better methods.
