Scenario: You have just been given a tremendous opportunity to assume the management of a group of 25 people. Leadership has a lot of confidence in you, and they are looking forward to your first 90 days in the new role.

The key information you need to be aware of for success is as follows:

1. The goals of the group are to process 25 insurance claims weekly with 100% accuracy (zero rework).

2. The current performance of the group is 18 claims weekly with a 26% error rate.

3. The group composition is:

– Non-whites: 22%

– Ages: 20% 25 to 35; 50% 36-45; 30% 45-60

– 40% male; 60% female

– Average seniority is 12+ years

4. Current issues noted by previous supervisors:
