The movies that you’ve watched carried themes of social constructs and concerns. What are the different social justice concerns: racism, poverty, ableism, prejudice, politics, sexism, etc. Think about the three movies that you’ve watched, the plot, the characters, and the messages being displayed. How do the stories being told impact the characters’ lives? Where are the intersections of society within the characters social frame? What would be different if the stories were placed in a different time? Why were the situations so different or difficult for the characters? Are there any social concerns that would have affected a broader audience? Give a brief analysis of the movies, examples of these intersections, and how the stories are reflective of real-life situations that you may or may not have experienced. Don’t rush into a quick judgment but think about everything and the context.
