Assessment 2: Essay
Word count: 2500 words (not including bibliography)
Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to produce an essay considering the relationship between healthy places and social equity with reference toa case study.
Task
Examine how healthy places are created through, and rely upon, social equity.
To do this, choose one topic discussed in Weeks 2-7, and apply it to a case study that you have independently researched. You will need to:
– Identify a topic and case study and receive approval from the unit convenor, ,before progressing with your essay.
– Reference, read and cite a minimum of 5 academic peer-reviewed journal articles. Grey literature can also be cited for this assessment.

– This essay is reliant upon unit materials that we have covered up until, and including, Week 7. You may wish to revisit your lecturenotes, readings, and other materials from the unit, including the relevant week of your chosen topic.
– Draw upon discussions and examinations of social equity undertaken in this unit.

• For this assignment, you must independently research suitable peer-reviewed academic journal articles, from discipline-relevantjournals (Urban Planning, Human Geography).
• Provide a reference list, as well as in-text citations, using a singular referencing format (preferably Harvard style); you may wish toconsult a style-guide provided by the library to ensure you are referencing correctly.
• The reference list is NOT included in your word count.
• Headings, subheadings and in-text citations ARE included in your word count.
• Sub-headings may be used, but should be done so sparingly so that they do not detract from the flow of the writing.
• Any figures or diagrams used should be captioned and sourced.
• Please use at least 1.5 spacing and size 12 font.
• The word count must be within 10% of 2500 words, and the final word count provided.
