Level 7 Assignment Guidelines:

The literature review on a systematic approach must include:
1. Introduction & background: Define your answerable research question using PEO/ PICO discuss the rationale for selection of the topic and identify its relevance to competencies or practice area.
2. Search strategy: Provide a transparent search strategy identifying the method undertaken to identify relevant studies. The plan or the search can be provided in the appendix.
3. Findings: State how many papers were found, and describe how you selected the papers for analysis, stating the inclusion and exclusion criteria used. A PRISMA diagram should be included. The selected articles should be detailed in a table.
4. Critical analysis: Critically appraise the quality of the identified studies using an appropriate tool, for example CASP. Synthesise the body of evidence from the findings of the identified studies and identify best practice. 5. Evaluation of local practice: Evaluate local practice and propose developmental strategies locally, and where appropriate, nationally. Critically evaluate any proposed changes.
6. Conclusion: Summarise the findings of your review, and recommendations for practice, demonstrating how you have answered the research question.
