- People who live in any community may have a history of incarceration. These clients may lack resources and seek health care from the CHW. Also, there may be a need among this population needing multiple services. What do you think may be the immediate needs for someone who is returning to the community? How would you as the CHW assist your client achieve their health and/or social needs?
- This module has been about understanding the professional changes that you will be encountering soon. Think about the following words by Robert Frost from his poem The Road Not Taken and explain its meaning to you with regards to the choices you had to make to get where you are now and the choices you are about to make. Create your own quote to illustrate your road to this point.

- Some states have legalized marijuana use. Supporters for the legalization of marijuana believe that it will eliminate the illegal trade and associated crime, yield a valuable tax-source, and reduce policing costs. Opponents argue that there is clear and growing evidence between marijuana use and psychosis, and its potential to act as a gateway drug leading to use of more dangerous drugs. How will legalization affect kids, adolescents, and young adults who cannot legally buy cannabis until they are 21 or older? How will legalization change your community?
- College students can feel overwhelmed when dealing with stress, performance, and fear of failing. Many students misuse stimulants to help them to be more focused and relaxed. In addition, several college students reported taking stimulants without a prescription. Why do you think students take stimulants? What are the positive and negative effects of stimulants? What would you tell someone who was considering using stimulants to enhance their abilities, focus, and skills?
- Many people use drugs as a crutch to help them handle difficult emotions such as anger, depression, and anxiety. These emotions are challenging for everyone, and it can be hard to resist the temptation of an easy escape. What choices does a person have, other than drug use, when they are confronted with these painful emotions? What emotions might lead you to use drugs or alcohol?
