All of those researchers who try to compare online and face-to-face have difficult research problems to address, although the problems differ. The assignments for this week are to do the background readings and then read an article that compares online and face-to-face, describe the findings, point to one problem the researcher had to address, and comment on whether you felt he/she did that successfully or not. You can pick one of the articles below but there are not enough for everyone so you may have to find one on your own. Take the article for what it is–in other words, don’t say that the author should have done a randomized experiment instead of a qualitative study. Instead, look for what does not seem sound in what the researcher actually did. Remember–find one thing!
