In terms of having a “digital business strategy”, it has been argued that organizations should rethink the role of IT strategy: from a functional- level strategy, aligned but always subordinate to business strategy, to one that reflects a fusion between IT strategy and business strategy. The DBS transformation journey suggests that to be truly digitized, a fusion between business and technology strategies is required.
