Write an essay at least five paragraphs long based on one of the prompts below. You will be graded on:

·      A thesis statement that is clear and appropriate for your essay,

·      Organization,

·      Development,

Spelling, grammar, punctuation

Pick one of the topics below and write an essay as each topic requires. Remember that your essay must make a point greater than the surface comparison. 

1.     Since you started college, how have you changed and how have you stayed the same? Write an essay that examines this, providing examples, description and a strong compare-and-contrast pattern.

2.     Compare any two groups that have divergent values; for example, vegetarians and meat-eaters, smokers and nonsmokers, cautions people and daredevils.

3.     Contrast patriotism and nationalism using clear examples.
