- A career autobiography is an account of your career from your perspective. Your story should be at least 4 pages (it may be longer; and not including title page and references-See rubric below) in length and should include the following elements:
- A developmental trajectory. Begin at the beginning – set the stage. What were your early life career aspirations, and what were the influences shaping these aspirations (familial, social, personal)? How did these aspirations change over the course of your life?
- Significant moments. What have been significant twists and turns along the way to the present? How do you explain these twists and turns?
- Perspective: Are their patterns that you recognize, or lack of patterns?
- Cultural perspective. How has your cultural background (gender, ethnicity/race, SES, sexual identity, geographic region, family background, religion) shaped your career story?
- Future Orientation. What are your future aspirations? How do you explain these? What is your 5-year plan while at the University of Georgia?
This assignment can be rather loose and free from structural requirements – please be creative and personal with your writing. **However, your paper should be well-written and well- organized. Also – APA or MLA style applies.
