As your instructor, I assigned you to one of the following three business models for this activity.
(Mine is fully centralized model)
Fully centralized model – In this model, both funding and the UX reporting structure are centralized.
Hybrid model with a central UX group – In this model, funding is centralized and the central UX group is responsible for company-wide UX efforts. UX groups embedded within business units handle UX projects for those business units (BUs).
Hybrid model with more distributed UX resources – In this model, there is again a central UX group, but this group focuses on process, education, infrastructure, standards, and a few key design projects. UX groups are integral to the BUs that fund them, and do most project-based UX work. Participants assumed members of such UX organizations would be geographically dispersed.
Browse the article, Comparing UXD Business Models. It talks about how companies employ UI/UX professionals in their organizations.
Then write an Executive Summary about the strengths and weaknesses of your assigned business model explaining why it’s the best of the three models.
Also, identify one real-world tech company for the model you were assigned. Your Executive Summary should be about 250-500.( This can be a minimum/around of 250 words perfectly fine), written in a concise manner. Imagine that the audience for this Executive Summary is a high-level manager considering the different business models, so you want to convey your point in a manner in which they can quickly review the information you present.
